Occupational Therapy (OT)

Occupational therapy aims to improve and facilitate the ability to perform everyday tasks that involve fine motor and sensory processing/ and regulation skills.

Intervention programs are designed to improve one's ability to complete everyday activities such as getting dressed, cooking, writing, attending to activities, and other activities that require fine motor coordination. In addition, occupational therapists can provide services related to the ability to manage sensory processing and regulation skills.

What are Sensory and Processing Regulation Skills?

Sensory processing is how our brains take in, interpret, and respond to all the different types of information we get from our senses—like touch, sound, sight, taste, and smell. It also includes how we sense things like balance and body movement.

Regulation skills are the tools we use to manage our emotions, reactions, and energy levels so that we can feel more balanced and in control, especially when things get stressful or overwhelming.
